Writing Workshop: Documentary and Autobiographical Narratives

Author Peter Øvig leads this workshop focusing on ideas, ethics, and dramaturgy in autobiographical and documentary writing. He presents writing exercises throughout and welcomes participants to ask questions, ideally based on their own projects.

Peter Øvig is behind documentary works such as "Birkedal", "Blekingegadebanden", "Hippie", and "Dem der ikke tier", as well as autobiographical books including "Min mor var besat" and "Jeg er hvad jeg husker". He has received the Cavling Prize, Readers' Book Prize, the Non-Fiction Prize, and the State Arts Foundation's lifetime honour.

The workshop is free and aimed at adults. Registration is via Billetto. The venue is Copenhagen Main Library, 4th floor, room LIVE - no computers are provided, so bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. Desk space is limited, and you should expect to have your computer or paper in your lap; a writing board can be borrowed as a base. On the floor there is a water station and a coffee machine, but no other refreshments - bring a water bottle or flask.

From the main entrance via Krystalgade, the 4th floor can be reached by elevator (to the right in the Central Hall), by stairs in the same place, or by escalator to the 3rd floor and then a staircase to the right. The stage area is to the right when you arrive at the floor.
