About

Peter Øvig Knudsen (born 1961 in Holme, Aarhus) is a Danish journalist and author who trained at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in 1987. After years at Dagbladet Information and Weekendavisen, he has worked as a full-time non-fiction writer since 2003. His two-volume works on the Blekingegade Gang (2007) and the 1970 Thy hippie camp (2011-12) became major bestsellers, establishing him as one of Denmark's leading documentary writers. He has received numerous awards, including the Cavling Prize (2007) and a lifetime grant from the Danish Arts Foundation (2022).
