Writing Workshop: Historical Fiction

Author Harald Voetmann (b. 1978) leads this workshop in historical fiction with a presentation and writing exercises. Whether you already have a time period in mind or are starting from scratch, all are welcome regardless of writing experience.

Voetmann has published novels, short stories, and poetry since 2000, most recently the novel Lysmesse (2025), and has translated works from Latin, including Catullus and Petronius.

The workshop takes place at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor, and lasts two hours. Participation is free but requires registration on Billetto. The workshop is aimed at adults.

Desk space is very limited, so expect to work with your computer or paper in your lap. Bring your own computer and/or paper and pen - computers are not provided, but a writing board for your notepad can be borrowed. On the 4th floor there is a water station and a coffee machine; feel free to bring your own water bottle. The 4th floor is reached from the Central Hall (entrance from Krystalgade) via elevator or stairs to the right, or via escalators to the 3rd floor and then stairs up to the right.
