Wild About Science: Lone Frank on What We Live For - On the Meaning of It All

Science journalist and neurobiologist Lone Frank gives a lecture at Hovedbiblioteket based on her forthcoming book "What We Live For - On the Meaning of It All", published in September 2026.

The book stems from a personal turning point: midway through life, Frank has both professional recognition and achieved her goals - yet something feels wrong. This unease drives her into science, through meditation, and finally to war-torn Ukraine, which becomes a pivotal moment.

The lecture lasts 45-60 minutes and concludes with questions from the audience. It takes place on LIVE, Store Scene, 4th floor. Admission is free but requires a ticket - seats cannot be reserved in advance, and the view is limited from certain seats. If the event is sold out, you can join the waiting list; available seats are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The lecture is part of Copenhagen Public Libraries' festival "Wild About Science", which runs through October and November with science communication for adults at libraries across the city.

About Lone Frank: Frank (b. 1966) holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology and has written about science for Weekendavisen since 1998. Her books include "My Beautiful Genome" (2010), "Pioneers of Pleasure" (2016), and "Greatest of All" (2020).
