Lone Frank

About

Lone Frank (born 1966) is a Danish science journalist, author and PhD in neurobiology, affiliated with the weekly newspaper Weekendavisen since 1998. Her books - including "My Beautiful Genome", "The Pleasure Shock" and "Størst af alt" - blend rigorous science with personal narrative to explore questions of identity, the brain and human nature. She has received major Danish and international awards, among them the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award and the Danish State Arts Foundation's honorary grant in 2020.

  • 2026-09

    Lone Frank publishes in September 2026 the book "What We Live For - On the Meaning of Everything", which examines what gives life substance, and which draws on, among other things, a meeting with war-ravaged Ukraine.

  • 2026-10

    In October 2026, Lone Frank gives a lecture at Copenhagen Main Library based on the new book.

  • 2025-05

    The podcast series "Deep Into Myself with Lone Frank" about meditation and the self, supported by the Carlsberg Foundation, released its latest season in May 2025.

  • 2020

    In 2020, Lone Frank received the State Art Foundation's honorary award for her "exceptional personal" communication of science.
