The Quantum Computer - lecture by Klaus Mølmer: Tuesday 20 October 2026, 19:00–21:00, Hasle Bibliotek, Aarhus. Admission is free.

Klaus Mølmer, professor of quantum physics at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen, gives a lecture on the fundamental principles of quantum physics and the so-called "quantum revolution" - the new wave of technologies built on the most paradoxical phenomena of quantum mechanics.

He explains how quantum computers work and what they can be used for.

Hasle Bibliotek is housed in Kulturhus Herredsvang in the Hasle district of western Aarhus, serving as a local cultural hub. The library spans two floors: the ground floor has a children's area with room to play and a wide selection of children's literature, while the upper floor holds fiction and study spaces. Regular events include author evenings, read-alouds and workshops.

About: Klaus Mølmer

One of Denmark's leading theoretical physicists, Mølmer has shaped the field through the Mølmer-Sørensen gate, now used in top quantum computing labs worldwide. He is equally at home on stage as in the lab, translating the paradoxes of the quantum world into terms any curious mind can grasp.

Mølmer received the Carlsberg Foundation Research Prize 2025 for his groundbreaking research in theoretical quantum optics and quantum mechanics; the prize was presented by the Queen at a ceremony at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek.
