LitteraTHURSDAY: Literary Walk
Hasle Bibliotek, Aarhus · Free
On selected Thursdays, we gather at Hasle Library to read and discuss literature together. A literature facilitator brings a fresh perspective each time - no prior knowledge required, just a desire to read and explore.
No registration needed - just show up. Location: 1st floor.
LitteraTORSDAY dates for autumn 2026:
27 August: Short Story Reading Circle
We read a short story aloud together - no preparation needed. Afterwards, we examine its characters, setting, themes and symbolism, and discuss how it is written and what we each take from it as readers.
24 September: Literary Walk at Vestereng
We start at the library and walk together to Vestereng, where there is a sculpture exhibition in September. The literature facilitator brings texts to share along the way, and we take a coffee break halfway through. The walk is 3-4 km at a leisurely pace.
22 October: Favourite Poems and Blackout Poetry
Bring your favourite poem and share it with us - the literature facilitator will also provide examples. We finish by trying BLACKOUT POETRY: by removing the unnecessary from an old book page, you create your own graphic poem.
19 November: The Nobel Prize Then and Now
We explore the Nobel Prize in Literature - its evolution over time and selected prize winners who still resonate. We also hear about this year's winner, announced in October, even though the prize is awarded on 10 December.
