Writing Workshop on Parental Leave: Transformations

This workshop explores what transformations can do to our writing. Using short literary examples - both contemporary and classic - and writing exercises, including work with Tarot cards, participants are invited to write about the theme in their own way. At the end, we read the texts aloud together. No previous writing experience required.

The workshop is led by Ingrid Nymo, who debuted in 2021 with the novel Kloster (shortlisted for the Munch Christensen debut prize). Her second novel Den Røde Hane was published in 2024 and was nominated for the DR Novel Prize, and in June 2026 her poetry collection Humbabas Hoved was published. She has also taught creative writing for several years at institutions including Testrup Højskole, Billed- Medieskolen, and Skrivekunstskolen in Aarhus.

The workshop is designed for parents on parental leave: there is space to bring your child, and it is fine to step away from the exercises as needed. Please bring a blanket and possibly toys for your child, as well as a notepad and something to write with - or a computer. A writing board can be borrowed on site. On the 4th floor there is a water station and a coffee machine, but no other refreshments, so bring your own drinks.

Participation is free but requires registration on Billetto. The workshop takes place at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor (LIVE). From the main entrance on Krystalgade you can take the elevator, stairs or escalator to the 3rd floor and then one flight of stairs up. The stage area is to the right when you arrive at the floor.
