Documentary and Autobiographical Narratives

Author Peter Øvig leads a workshop on writing about reality, focusing on ideas, ethics, and dramaturgy in autobiographical and documentary narratives. He introduces writing exercises throughout and welcomes questions based on participants' own projects.
Peter Øvig has written documentary books including Birkedal, Blekingegadebanden, Hippie, and Dem der ikke tier, as well as the autobiographical works Min mor var besat and Jeg er hvad jeg husker, both exploring depression. He has received the Cavling Prize, the Readers' Book Prize, the Non-Fiction Prize, and a lifetime honorary grant from the Danish Arts Foundation.
The workshop is a standalone two-hour session for adults, held from 14:00 to 16:00 in Kultursalen at Kulturstationen Vanløse, entrance from Frode Jakobsens Plads 4, 2720 Vanløse. The event is free but requires registration on Billetto. Bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen.
