Writing Workshop: Documentary and Autobiographical Narratives — Sundby Bibliotek, Copenhagen
Free entry

Writing about reality is both challenging and vulnerable. In this workshop, author Peter Øvig discusses ideas, ethics, and dramaturgy in autobiographical and documentary narratives. He introduces a couple of writing exercises along the way, and there is an opportunity for questions - preferably based on participants' own projects.

Peter Øvig has written bestselling documentary books such as "Birkedal", "Blekingegadebanden", "Hippie" and "Dem der ikke tier", as well as autobiographical works such as "Min mor var besat" and "Jeg er hvad jeg husker", both dealing with depression. He has received awards including the Cavling Prize, the Readers' Book Prize, the Non-Fiction Prize and the State Arts Foundation's lifetime honorary award.

The workshop takes place in Glassalen, Kvarterhuset, from 19:00 to 21:00. Participation is free but requires registration on Billetto. There is very limited desk space, so bring pen and paper rather than a computer. Questions can be directed to literature facilitator Jakob at uk1q@kk.dk.
