Japanese Literature on the Rise

Mette Holm, translator and Japan specialist, explores Haruki Murakami's literary work and examines the central themes in his books, as well as the unique challenges of translating from Japanese to Danish.

The second part of the event focuses on female Japanese authors whom Mette Holm has introduced to Danish readers: Sayaka Murata, Hiromi Kawakami, Yu Miri, Erika Kobayashi, and Asako Yuzuki, whose novel Butter was published in Danish earlier this year.

The event takes place at Valby Library in Copenhagen.
