Anja Ringgren Lovén: Africa's Witch Children — Hovedbiblioteket, Aarhus

Since the early 2010s, Anja Ringgren Lovén has worked in Nigeria to help children accused of witchcraft - an accusation that can cost them everything: family, home, and in many cases their health. At Hovedbiblioteket, she shares her journey into one of the world's most dangerous countries and the building of a children's centre spanning over 30,000 square metres.

Lovén founded the emergency aid organization DINNødhjælp and the children's centre Land Of Hope, which since 2012 has worked for children accused of witchcraft in Nigeria. Her humanitarian efforts have earned her numerous awards, and the Dalai Lama has personally expressed his recognition of her work.

In collaboration with Warner Bros., she has produced a documentary that had its world premiere on HBO MAX in June 2024 and was shown in over 60 countries.

The event takes place in Lille Sal and is organized in collaboration with FOF.
