Description was written before the event

Dawda Jobarteh and Admeta String Quartet perform at Børnekulturhus Ama'r on Amager on Saturday 29 August 2026 at 11.30. The concert blends West African songs with new compositions and is specially lit as part of the family festival BIG BANG. Jobarteh plays the kora - the traditional stringed instrument from Gambia - meeting the string quartet in a program where two musical traditions work together: free improvisation meets carefully arranged notation. The children's cultural house on Øresundsvej was designed by Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter and welcomes children and young people aged 0 to 16. Tickets cost 50-75 kr. This is one of three Danish concert dates for Jobarteh in 2026.
