Motorcycle Adventure with Henriette Thiim
Ørestad Bibliotek, Copenhagen · 30–75 kr. · ≈ 4–10 €
In 2020, Henriette Thiim took a leave of absence, got on her motorcycle, and rode toward Africa. It became the beginning of a journey of over 100,000 kilometers through 45 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East - and she was away for three years. Along the way, she contracted malaria in Tanzania, got stranded in Morocco during the coronavirus pandemic, and had to change her route through Saudi Arabia and Iraq with military escort.
In the lecture, she talks about courage and freedom - and what it means to leave the familiar behind and meet the world alone, for better and worse. Henriette brings her motorcycle into the library.
The lecture is arranged in collaboration with Kulturforeningen Liv i Sundby. Tickets are purchased at livisundby.dk: 75 kr. for non-members, 30 kr. for members.
