Plant Medicine - From Myths and Superstition to Modern Research

This guided tour explores the role of plants as medicines - from ancient myths, superstitions and rituals to contemporary research. Botanisk Have has a direct connection to this theme: the garden was founded by Christian IV in the 17th century as a medicinal herb garden with primarily Scandinavian species, before its purpose gradually shifted to the conservation and protection of wild and endangered plants from around the world.

Your ticket also includes free admission to one separate visit to Palmehuset on the same day during regular opening hours. Please note that access to parts of Palmehuset is currently limited due to renovation - and it is recommended that you book a time for this visit via the webshop in advance.

Practical information
Duration: 1.5 hours. Max. 25 participants. The tour is aimed at adults.

Meeting point: Main entrance to Botanisk Have near Nørreport Station (Gothersgade 126), in front of Botanisk Have's shop. Show your ticket upon arrival.

Accessibility: Wheelchair users unfortunately cannot participate, as the route includes stairs in the protected Palmehuset and/or on the stone mounds in the garden.

Tickets cannot normally be exchanged or refunded. In case of cancellation, notification will be sent via email from Billetto, and the ticket price will be refunded automatically. Changes may occur due to weather conditions or renovation work in Botanisk Have and Palmehuset.
