About Steen Ramsgaard: Steen is a freelance journalist, travel guide, lecturer, and author with over 35 years of journalism experience. He worked as foreign editor and reporter for major Danish media, covering major international events including the Gulf War, the Balkans conflict, and the dissolution of Yugoslavia. His 2016 book "War in Europe's Backyard" led to his first opportunity as a travel guide. Since then, he has expanded his expertise to destinations across Central and Southeast Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia - often places he visited and worked in as a foreign correspondent.
