Guided Tour of Copenhagen Police Headquarters — Politigården, Copenhagen

Step behind the walls of this otherwise closed building that has served as the headquarters of the Copenhagen Police for over 100 years. Built between 1918 and 1924 and designed by Hack Kampmann, the building is considered a neoclassical masterpiece today. The tour offers both architectural and historical narratives. Experience the iconic circular courtyard and the square courtyard, now known as the memorial courtyard, as well as the many long corridors with fascinating details. All tours are led by current or former police officers. The tour starts at the main entrance of Police Headquarters facing Polititorvet.

Requirements: All participants must present a valid photo ID (driver's license or passport). All participants must have a permanent address in Denmark. Police Headquarters is a protected building and is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users. The tour also involves considerable walking, including stairs and corridors, so it is not recommended for those with mobility difficulties. Large bags or backpacks are not permitted on the tour. Part of the tour takes place outdoors, and we recommend dressing appropriately for the season. As Copenhagen Police Headquarters is an active workplace, cancellations may occur with short notice. We ask that participants respect Police Headquarters as a workplace and conduct themselves appropriately.
