Light Concert in Aarhus Cathedral

Experience an extraordinary event when Aarhus Cathedral's two young musicians join forces with one of Denmark's leading lighting designers for a concert during Aarhus Festival 2026. Music, light, mist, holograms, and architecture unite in a single artistic expression, revealing the cathedral's 800-year-old space in new and compelling ways.

The programme features works by Hans Zimmer (from Christopher Nolan's Interstellar), Richard Strauss (from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey), James MacMillan, Cecilia McDowall, and beloved Danish hymns. The concert invites reflection and presence in a total experience where architecture, music, and light converge.
