Memorial Celebration for Troels Trier: An Evening in the Sign of Røde Mor and Music — Rockmuseet, Roskilde

On Friday, September 4, Rockmuseet invites you to a special memorial celebration for Troels Trier (1940-2026), one of the most original, distinctive, and beloved voices in Danish music history. When Troels Trier passed away in spring 2026, Denmark lost an artist who shaped Danish music and cultural life for more than six decades. As frontman and songwriter of the legendary artist collective Røde Mor, as a solo artist, as partner with singer Rebecca Brüel, and as a tireless performing artist, he created a body of work marked by poetry, humor, social critique, and human insight.

This evening we gather to remember, honor, and celebrate Troels Trier's life and artistic legacy. Museum director Rasmus Rosenørn tells the story of Troels Trier and his significance for the Danish music scene, while presenting unique objects from Rockmuseet's collection that illuminate his long and diverse career. The evening's musical centerpiece comes when Troels' son, musician Tobias Trier, takes the stage with interpretations of selected songs from his father's extensive catalog. He is joined by musical members of Røde Mor and other musicians closely connected to both Troels and Tobias Trier. The audience can look forward to an evening of powerful stories, vivid memories, and music that still speaks directly to both heart and present times - a celebration of an incomparable artist and his continuing inspiration to new generations.

INFO: Rockmuseet's café is open all evening with drinks and snacks available. If you use a wheelchair and/or need an accompanying person, please contact us beforehand so we can ensure the best experience for you. Companions with companion cards attend free of charge.
