Experience Denmark's largest living plant collection on a special guided tour that weaves together the history of the garden with the history of beer. Along the way, you'll taste three carefully selected beers. The Botanical Garden celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2024 since its location on Copenhagen's old ramparts. Brewer J. C. Jacobsen from Carlsberg was one of the pioneers behind the establishment of the new botanical garden, particularly the beautiful and iconic Palm House, which houses a collection of exotic plants from distant lands. During the tour, you'll learn about the Botanical Garden's history, the history of beer, and a selection of plants used in beer brewing through the ages. You'll taste three different beers and discuss the botany behind them. The tour takes you both outdoors through the romantic garden and indoors in the Victorian Palm House. Your ticket also includes free admission to one self-guided visit to the Palm House on the day of the tour during regular opening hours.

To secure your preferred time slot, we recommend booking a free-entry visit in advance through our webshop. Please note that access to parts of the Palm House is currently limited due to renovation.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Duration: 1.5 hours. Capacity: Up to 20 participants per tour. The tour is for adults only (18+). Meeting point: Main entrance to the Botanical Garden near Nørreport Station (Gothersgade 126). We meet in front of the Botanical Garden shop. Show your ticket upon arrival; the tour starts on time. Beer: The tour includes tastings of three different beers. Accessibility: Wheelchair users cannot participate in the tours at the Botanical Garden, as the route includes stairs in the protected Palm House and/or stone mounds in the garden. Terms of purchase: Under normal circumstances, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.
