British art song and choral music from the early 1900s flourished during a period of intense folk-song revival, often called the "second renaissance". This concert brings together two major works from that era: A. E. Housman's "A Shropshire Lad" and Benjamin Britten's arrangement of folk songs.

The ensemble features tenor, string quartet and piano: David Danholt (tenor), Johannes Søe Hansen (violin), Anja Zelianodjevo (violin), Magda Stevenson (viola), Ingemar Brantelid (cello) and Britt Krogh Grønnebæk (piano).

About the venue: Slesvigske Musikhus

Slesvigske Musikhus is a concert hall on Louisevej in Haderslev, inaugurated on 21 November 2008. Designed by Zeni Arkitekter of Aabenraa, it was built through a collaboration between the Danish Armed Forces and Haderslev Municipality, with funding from the A.P. Møller Foundation. The hall seats 149 and is home to Slesvigske Musikkorps, one of the three full-time professional military bands in Denmark. Haderslev Kammermusikforening also holds concerts here, and the local music school uses the practice rooms for tuition.
