Make a Pocket Altar - Workshop Series with Puk Hyllested
Butikken, Godthåbsvej, Frederiksberg · 465–925 kr. · ≈ 62–124 €
A pocket altar is a small textile work that expresses something personal and meaningful to its owner. The tradition dates back to the Middle Ages, when travelers carried a small altar with them for prayer and comfort on their journeys.
Over two evenings, you will hand-sew your own pocket altar - no experience with embroidery or different stitches is necessary. We work with symbols and messages that matter to you personally, and you don't need to be religious to participate. Feel free to bring a small, pointed scissors and pendants, fabric scraps, or other small items with personal meaning that can be sewn on.
You can attend both sessions or just the first one:
Part 1: September 17, 5-8 PM
Part 2: September 24, 5-8 PM
