Innocence and Cleansing
La Oficina, Frederiksberg · 40–195 kr. · ≈ 5–26 €
Author Sofi Oksanen, composer Bent Sørensen, actress Benedikte Hansen, and pianist Katrine Gislinge gather for an evening that blends literature, music, and performance art.
Both Oksanen and Sørensen are winners of the Nordic Council's literature and music prizes respectively, and both are known for their uncompromising and deeply original artistic expression. Sørensen discusses with Oksanen her opera Innocence, created in collaboration with Kaija Saariaho, and her novel Cleansing, which weaves Estonia's dramatic history together with the fate of two women. Benedikte Hansen brings the text to life in a staging by Katrine Wiedemann, while Katrine Gislinge performs works by Bent Sørensen and Kaija Saariaho.
The event is part of Frederiksberg Festival, a 4-day festival featuring jazz, classical music, literature, performance art, and dance running from 10 to 13 September 2026. If you plan to attend multiple events on the same Saturday, you can buy a Saturday ticket for 700 kr. Read more at Frederiksbergfestspil.dk.
