Writing Workshop: Documentary and Autobiographical Narratives with Peter Øvig Knudsen
Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen · 0 kr.
Writing about reality is both challenging and vulnerable. In this workshop, author Peter Øvig Knudsen explores the ideas, ethics, and dramaturgy of autobiographical and documentary narratives - and introduces a couple of writing exercises along the way. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, ideally drawing on participants' own projects.
Peter Øvig is the author of several documentary books, including Birkedal, Blekingegadebanden, Hippie, and Dem der ikke tier, as well as the autobiographical works Min mor var besat and Jeg er hvad jeg husker, both dealing with depression. He has received the Cavling Prize, the Readers' Book Prize, the Non-Fiction Prize, and the State Arts Foundation's lifetime honorary award, among many others.
The workshop takes place in Glassalen at Kvarterhuset from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Participation is free but requires registration via Billetto. Desk space is very limited, so bring a pen and paper - or your own laptop, which you'll likely need to hold in your lap. Kvarterhuset does not provide computers.
