Significant Women in Copenhagen's History

Women are underrepresented in history books, on memorial plaques, and among the city's statues - yet Copenhagen's history contains a long line of influential women whose contributions to art, politics, literature, and culture deserve recognition.

On this tour, city historian Finn William Larsen tells the stories of some of them, from the Middle Ages to today: what they accomplished, the times they lived in, and where they lived or worked. Among the women featured on the tour are Leonora Christina, Sigbrit Willoms, Nathalie Zahle, Louise Danner, Mathilde Fibiger, Liva Weel, Madam Mangor, Nielsine Nielsen, and Johanne Louise Heiberg.
