Possessed and Desired: A Conversation with Cecilie Lind on Creation, Possession and Desire

On October 7, 17:00-18:30, author Cecilie Lind visits the first floor of Herkules Pavillonen Café for a conversation about her latest novel Bristefærdig, published in March 2025. The novel is described as a story about loving the monstrous and fighting to the death for one's love and truth - and Cecilie Lind is nominated for the Politiken Literature Prize in 2025 for the book.

**About Bristefærdig:** A woman in her thirties lives alone with a homeless love. She has a child with a man, but immediately after birth the child is taken from her. In the hospital record, it states that she has had a tumor removed and suffers from paranoid delusions - that she believes she has become a mother. But she knows that she is. One night she breaks into the hospital and retrieves her daughter. Desperate with love, she seeks refuge in an old house in the forest, while food slowly runs out and a hungry animal prowls outside. How long can mother and child survive with a truth that everyone calls a lie?

About Cecilie Lind: Lind graduated from the Danish Writers' School in 2013, but debuted in 2010 with the poetry collection The Wolf Ate My Eyeliner. In 2019, the long poem My Child was published by Gyldendal, and in 2022 came the novel Girl Animal, which won the Critics' Prize and was nominated for the DR Novel Prize, the Politiken Literature Prize, the Jyllands-Posten Literature Prize and the Montana Literature Prize. Girl Animal has been translated into Norwegian, Swedish, English and German, has become a theatre play and is in development as a film.

The event takes place in Kulturpavillonen, which is located in Herkules Pavillonen in Kongens Have. Tickets cost 150 kr. (100 kr. for students).
