Ceramics for Young Adults and Adults - Age 16+, Autumn

This ceramics course combines classical and experimental techniques from your first session. You'll work with structured assignments while having plenty of room for your own ideas and expression.

Throughout the course you'll learn shaping techniques including slab work, coil building, casting, figure modelling, carving in clay (kurinuki), and casting in small plaster moulds. You'll also be introduced to decoration techniques: glazing, burnishing, underglazes and decocolors, sgraffito, silkscreen, printing techniques with burnishing, and carving your own stamps. Along the way you'll create your own decoration templates and build a personal collection of glaze samples.
