Lars Thiesgaard reads aloud from Captain Skumskæg's wild adventures on the 13 gardens, while Sofie Lind Mesterton draws live. Together they bring the audience into the world of pirate captain Skumskæg - the small-tempered captain, her quirky pirate crew, and the series' humorous universe.

Lars Thiesgaard is the voice behind over 700 characters in Danish animated films, including Pumba and Grisling. Sofie Lind Mesterton has illustrated several well-known children's books, including the 'Captain Skumskæg' series and the 'Me & Mille' books.

Avedøre Bibliotek og Kulturhus is a combined public library and cultural centre in Avedøre Stationsby, part of Hvidovre Municipality's library network. Under one roof it houses a concert and theatre hall alongside a creative workshop for children and young people.
