Flat Bop

Flat Bop is a Danish-Norwegian quartet featuring Christoffer Find on saxophone, Bo Møller on guitar, Gunnar Ringøen on Hammond organ, and Chris Falkenberg on drums. All four members contribute to the songwriting process: one brings an idea, and the band develops it together.

The music consists of rearranged original compositions that challenge the traditional verse-chorus structure. Form is integral to each piece's identity - not just the theme - and the melodies are often the kind you hum on your way home. The repertoire ranges widely: songs about an old car (which dies, spoiler alert), food and drink, parties, sleeping bags, and major influences like Charles Mingus and Dr. Lonnie Smith.

In recent years, the band has performed at Copenhagen Jazz Festival (in 2025 at La Fontaine), Esbjerg Jazz Festival, and Kilden Konserthus in Kristiansand. They have two albums to their name, and a video recorded at La Fontaine in October 2024 gives a good sense of their sound.
