Bassist and knitting designer Albert Reinholdt Østergaard combines jazz with humorous stories about knitting in a musical evening filled with improvisation and creativity.
Albert Reinholdt Østergaard is an award-winning Danish bassist, composer and knitwear designer from Tversted in Vendsyssel, performing under the name Kontrastrik. He has shared stages with Ed Thigpen, Bob Mintzer, Pee Wee Ellis and Kamasi Washington, drawing on Cuban rhythms, Nordic folk music and jazz improvisation. Since 2015 he has designed knitwear patterns in collaboration with Marianne Isager, and from 2022 he has toured Denmark with his musical knitting show 'Bær Dine Fejl', weaving together double bass, communal singing and personal stories about bullying and self-worth.

On September 23, 2025, he performed at Dokk1 in Aarhus with an evening about knitting and jazz.
In December 2024, he came to Sæby with 'Bær Dine Fejl' at Skovlyst - the town where he previously played in Sæby Big Band.
