Charlotte Weitze (b. 1974, Kongens Lyngby) is a Danish author with an MA in folkloristics who has written novels, short stories, and radio plays since her 1996 debut collection 'Skifting'. Her work sits at the boundary between everyday realism and magical storytelling, drawing on folklore, nature, and myth. Her novel 'Ulvemælk' (Gutkind, 2025) is nominated for the 2026 Nordic Council Literature Prize, and in 2025 she received the Danish Arts Foundation's lifetime honorary award.
'Ulvemælk' was announced on February 26, 2026 as the Danish nominee for the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2026 - the winner will be announced on October 20, 2026 in Helsinki.
'Ulvemælk' is also nominated for the Weekendavisen Literature Prize 2026.
In October 2025, Charlotte Weitze received the State Arts Foundation's lifelong artist grant.
