Christian Ihle Hadland is a Norwegian pianist born in Stavanger in 1983, widely regarded as one of Scandinavia's most accomplished classical musicians. He made his professional debut with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra at fifteen and gained international recognition in 2011 as a BBC New Generation Artist, performing with all five BBC orchestras and at the BBC Proms. Since 2010 he has served as artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival in Stavanger, and his ongoing partnership with violinist Johan Dalene has produced several acclaimed recordings of Nordic repertoire. His Holberg Variations disc with Ensemble 1B1 won the Spellemann Prize in 2015.
Hadland released the solo album Mozart: Complete Piano Music, Vol. 1 on the Lawo record label.
Hadland performed at Bergen's International Festival with a solo program on Grieg's own piano at Troldhaugen.
Hadland and violinist Johan Dalene gave a recital at Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg with a Nordic program.
Hadland participated in Eivind Aadland's International Chamber Music Festival on Fanø with a series of concerts in Nordby and Sønderho churches as well as at the South Danish Music Conservatory in Esbjerg.
Hadland and Johan Dalene are scheduled to perform in Elbphilharmonie's Kleiner Saal in Hamburg with a Nordic program including works by Grieg, Amanda Röntgen-Maier, and Wilhelm Stenhammar.
