DR Big Band is Denmark's national big band, founded in Copenhagen in 1964 by Ib Glindemann as part of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR). The band plays jazz in the broadest sense - from swing and bebop to contemporary composition - and has performed with artists including Miles Davis, Stan Getz and Randy Brecker. Since Miho Hazama became chief conductor in 2019, the band has built a strong international profile, touring Japan and the USA and releasing records on Edition Records, most recently the album 'Frames' in April 2026.
