Ensemble Hermes is a string ensemble from Aarhus, founded in 2018 and run by seven young musicians with backgrounds spanning Denmark, France, Brazil and the Czech Republic. They perform without a conductor, moving between chamber configurations and full string orchestra, and regularly bring in guest musicians for specific projects. The ensemble is known for building concerts around strong thematic narratives that connect classical repertoire with dance, visual art and cross-disciplinary collaboration. In 2025-2026 they hold the Artist in Residence position at Musikhuset Aarhus.
Ensemble Hermes released the album FindAndYouWillSeek in collaboration with composer and pianist Christian Balvig - a neoclassical album composed for the ensemble's seven strings.
