About

Fatma Zidan is an Egyptian-Danish singer and composer who grew up in Egypt and has been based in Denmark since 2007. Trained as a classical harpist at the Giza Conservatory, she switched to a vocal career and moves fluently between classical Arabic music and modern Arabic pop. She spent seven years as a regular member of the Cairo Opera chorus and has collaborated with major Egyptian pop stars, as well as recording hundreds of tracks as a session musician for the Egyptian label AMAR. She won the Danish Music Award for Best World Track twice - in 2008 and 2010 - for her albums Muktalef and Hawel.

  • 2025

    Fatma Zidan performed at Maqam Festival in Koncertkirken in Copenhagen with a program consisting of her own compositions and classics from the great Arab divas.

  • 2021-22

    Fatma Zidan released the singles Ghurba and Le Daiman, both recorded at Ehab Nabil Studio in Cairo, and toured with her ensemble in Denmark.

  • 2013-2018

    Fatma Zidan presented the concert series "Golden Age of Egyptian Music" with musicians from Denmark and Egypt.
