High on Fire is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, formed in 1998 by guitarist and vocalist Matt Pike. Their sound draws heavily on sludge and stoner metal, built around crushing riffs and raw energy. "Blessed Black Wings" (2005) is widely regarded as one of their defining records.
