Ichiro Agata is the guitarist and co-founder of Tokyo noise duo Melt Banana, active since the early 1990s. His playing is defined by extreme speed, abrasive textures and fragmented sonic bursts that resist easy genre labels. Alongside vocalist Yasuko Onuki, he has built a body of work spanning noise, hardcore, grindcore and experimental electronics, with collaborators including John Zorn and Mike Patton.
