About

Joanne Lunn is an English soprano specialising in Baroque and early music. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where she received the prestigious Tagore Gold Medal, and has since built an international career as a soloist with ensembles including the Monteverdi Choir, Bach Collegium Japan, Academy of Ancient Music and Concerto Copenhagen. Her discography ranges from Bach cantatas recorded during the historic Bach Pilgrimage with John Eliot Gardiner to the St John Passion with the Dunedin Consort, which received a Gramophone Award nomination. She is particularly recognised for her interpretations of Bach and his contemporaries.

    Joanne Lunn performed as a soloist with Concerto Copenhagen under Lars Ulrik Mortensen in Christmas concerts at the Royal Theatre's Old Stage in Copenhagen and in Helsingør Cathedral with a program of Bach, Telemann and Graupner.

    Lunn participated in Bach's Mass in B minor with Knabenchor Hannover and in Monteverdi's Vespers with La Nuova Musica at Wigmore Hall in London.

    Lunn completed a US tour with Bach cantatas with Dunedin Consort and sang Bach's Mass in B minor in Toronto with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.
