Concerto Copenhagen's Christmas Concert 2026
Trinitatis Kirke, Copenhagen · 0–200 kr. · ≈ 27 €
Concerto Copenhagen's Christmas concert explores two fundamental moods of Christmas: the joy of anticipation at the coming of the Christ Child and the peace sought in the world. In the musical imagery of the Baroque, this peace is often expressed through pastorals - scenes where shepherds at Bethlehem are cradled by soft, flowing rhythms. Bach's aria "Schafe können sicher weiden" is one of the concert's centerpieces, but the programme also includes rarely heard works by Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann David Heinichen, Johann Christoph Pez, Johann Kuhnau and Christoph Graupner.
Concerto Copenhagen is led by Lars Ulrik Mortensen, with English soprano Joanne Lunn as soloist.
