Wine & Science: Menopause and Science
Four leading Danish researchers present the latest findings on menopause, including results from a landmark nationwide study and new hormone therapy guidelines. Wine is served during the break.
Lasse Gliemann is an associate professor and deputy head of department at the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, University of Copenhagen. He is a human physiologist who leads the KiSO research project, Women in Healthy Transition, one of the largest Danish studies of women's health during menopause. His research focuses on how falling oestrogen levels affect the cardiovascular system and whether physical activity can reduce the risk of heart disease in midlife women.
The KiSO research initiative under the leadership of Lasse Gliemann launched a new knowledge portal with evidence-based information about menopause and an accompanying brochure for Danish women.
On April 16, 2026, Lasse Gliemann appeared as a speaker at Copenhagen University Library in Fiolstræde, where he discussed new research on menopause in conversation with author Pernille Melsted.
