Two internationally recognized percussion soloists perform melodic percussion instruments including marimba and vibraphone, featuring a world premiere by composer Line Tjørnhøj.
Mathias Reumert (b. 1980) is a Danish percussionist, conductor and album producer specialising in contemporary classical music. He won first prizes at three international competitions - including the Gaudeamus International Interpreters Award 2007, the first percussionist to do so since 1979 - and has since become one of the most recorded new-music percussionists of his generation. As leader of the Mathias Reumert Group and the Reumert/Elten Percussion Duo, and as founder of Ekkozone Records, he has left a clear mark on both the Danish and international contemporary music scenes.
Ekkozone Records was sold in 2025 to the American company First Inversion, while Reumert continues as artistic advisor for the record label.
Ekkozone Records released in March 2025 the album 'The Promises of Darkness' with world premiere recordings of four major works by Roger Reynolds, conducted by Reumert.
The album 'Roger Reynolds: Wind Concertos', produced and conducted by Reumert, received Danmarks Radio's P2 Prize 2024 as one of the year's five best albums.
Reumert founded Ekkozone Records in 2023 and at the same time renamed his crossover ensemble from Ekkozone to Mathias Reumert Group to enable more touring activity.
Reumert/Elten Percussion Duo released in 2023 the debut album 'Argumenta' on Ekkozone Records with world premiere recordings of Philippe Manoury's works and a new transcription of Ravel's 'Le Tombeau de Couperin'.
