Bremer/McCoy
Copenhagen jazz duo blending melodic jazz with dub aesthetics and minimalist soundscapes. An organic, meditative sound world built on double bass and tape-loop effects.
Morten McCoy is a Danish pianist and keyboardist, best known as one half of the Copenhagen duo Bremer/McCoy, which he has formed with bassist Jonathan Bremer since 2012. His music draws on melodic jazz, dub aesthetics and minimalist soundscapes, with tape-delay effects giving the sound an analogue, meditative quality. The duo released their sixth album, Kosmos, in 2024 on David Byrne's Luaka Bop label, and have since toured Scandinavia and northern Europe with their own custom sound system. Both musicians have been nominated for the Danish critics' prize Steppeulven.
Bremer/McCoy played a series of sold-out concerts in England in September 2025, including two evenings in London and shows in Manchester, Newcastle and Norwich.
Bremer/McCoy performed at the Draken festival in Göteborg in August 2025.
The duo played at Porgy & Bess in Vienna in March 2026 as part of their European tour.
Bremer/McCoy released their sixth studio album Kosmos on September 6, 2024 and followed it up with a tour in 10 Danish cities and concerts at Konservatoriets Koncertsal in Copenhagen.
In June 2024, Bremer/McCoy announced the album Kosmos and stated that some of the tracks had been in development for up to 15 years.
