Nik West is an American bassist, singer and songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona, known for her high-energy live shows and technically accomplished bass playing. She has performed and collaborated with Prince, John Mayer, Macy Gray, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and Parliament Funkadelic, and Billboard has singled her out as one of the rare 21st-century artists who combine genuine musical ideas with virtuosity. Alongside her solo work - including the debut album Just in the Nik of Time and the follow-up Moody - she composes music for ESPN and Disney and runs Queen of Strings, a program and competition aimed at encouraging girls and women to pick up bass and guitar.
