TALK: An Evening with Peter A.G.
A conversation with Peter A.G. Nielsen about GNAGS' 60th anniversary and career, hosted by music researcher Henrik Marstal with musical performances.
Peter A.G. Nielsen (born 17 December 1952 in Skjern) is a Danish singer-songwriter and composer, best known as the founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Gnags, which he formed with his brother Jens G. Nielsen in 1966. The band broke through nationally in the 1980s, with Mr. Swing King (1989) selling 280,000 copies - their commercial peak. Alongside Gnags, Peter A.G. has released solo albums, written songs for other artists, and works as a public speaker.
Gnags releases their 25th studio album KNARK on September 4, 2026, produced by Peter A.G. and Mads Michelsen.
Gnags announces farewell tour 'Grande finale' with five concerts in April 2027 in the country's largest arenas - the band ends its career after 60 years.
Gnags plays their very last festival concert on Bøgescenen at Smukfest in Skanderborg and thus ends 60 years of festival history.
DR presents a major portrait of Peter A.G. Nielsen on the occasion of Gnags' 60th anniversary, where he reveals that the band's 25th album is underway.
Gnags' guitarist Per Frost dies at age 69, which prompts Peter A.G. to revive the band rather than close it quietly.
