Placebo are a British-Belgian alternative rock band formed in London in 1994 by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, both of whom grew up in Luxembourg. Their dark, glam-inflected sound - built around themes of identity, sexuality and self-destruction - set them apart from the Britpop mainstream from the start. Their 1996 self-titled debut reached number five on the UK Albums Chart, and the band have since released eight studio albums, most recently Never Let Me Go in 2022.
Placebo released RE:CREATED on June 19, 2026 - a re-recorded version of the debut album from 1996, based on the original master tapes and 30 years of live experience with the songs.
The band announced in March 2026 a major 30-year anniversary tour with over 40 shows in Europe and Britain from September to December 2026.
The tour includes a Danish date on October 24, 2026 at K.B. Hallen in Frederiksberg.
For the tour, the band plays songs from the first two albums, including tracks that have not been performed live for over 20 years.
The eighth studio album Never Let Me Go was released in 2022 and became the band's commercially most successful release with number one positions in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
