Interpol are a New York indie rock band formed in 1997 by vocalist Paul Banks, guitarist Daniel Kessler and drummer Sam Fogarino. Their debut album "Turn on the Bright Lights" (2002) became a landmark of post-punk revival, earning widespread critical acclaim and placing them at the forefront of the early 2000s alternative rock scene. Seven studio albums and countless tours later, the band signed to Partisan Records in 2026 and are releasing their eighth album, "This Mirror Weighs a Ton", on 28 August 2026.

Interpol announced "This Mirror Weighs a Ton" on June 9, 2026 and simultaneously released the singles "This Mirror Weighs a Ton" and "See Out Loud".
The band switched to the record label Partisan Records, home to IDLES and PJ Harvey among others, ahead of the new album.
Interpol and Bloc Party announced a joint 18-date tour in the UK and Europe in November-December 2026, with the opening concert in Copenhagen on November 10 at Royal Arena.
The live album "Live at Third Man Records", recorded directly to acetate in Nashville in June 2024, was released on December 6, 2024.
