About

Skating Polly are an American indie-punk trio from Oklahoma City, founded in 2009 by stepsisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse when they were just 9 and 14 years old. Kelli's brother Kurtis Mayo joined on drums in 2017, completing the current lineup. The band describes their sound as 'ugly pop' - a raw collision of 90s grunge, riot grrrl and DIY punk - and have earned the support of figures like Exene Cervenka and Calvin Johnson, as well as collaborating with Veruca Salt. Their 2023 double album Chaos County Line, produced by Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Jesus Lizard), is widely regarded as their most expansive work to date.
