Skating Polly + Lord Friday the 13th
1000fryd welcomes Skating Polly back to Aalborg - this time at the venue itself, not at Huset as on their last visit. They bring Lord Friday the 13th along.
Skating Polly was formed when step-sisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse were nine and thirteen years old respectively. The Oklahoma-based band describes their sound as "ugly-pop" - melodic, rebellious, and hard to pin down. In 2017, Kelli's brother Kurtis Mayo joined on drums. The band has collaborated with artists including Exene Cervenka from X and Calvin Johnson from Beat Happening, toured with Babes In Toyland, and appeared in a documentary film. On the double album Chaos County Line, they deliver their most ambitious work to date.
Lord Friday the 13th is a trash-glam-punk band from Austin, TX, now based in Los Angeles. Fronted by siblings Felix (vocals) and Sloane (guitar) Lenz, their show has been described as "if Liza Minnelli fronted Sex Pistols".
