Sofi Oksanen

About

Sofi Oksanen is a Finnish-Estonian author, born in 1977, whose novels explore totalitarianism, oppression and the lives of women in Eastern Europe. Her novel "Purge" (2008) brought her international recognition and numerous literary awards. She also writes essays and plays, and is a prominent voice on issues of power, trafficking and historical trauma.
