Svanger at Brønshøj Vandtårn
The duo Svanger blends Nordic folk music with contemporary jazz in an acoustic concert written specifically for Brønshøj Vandtårn, exploring dialogue and femininity through sound.
Svanger is a Danish duo formed by Selma Lind Thormann (trumpet) and Miamaja Vinther (saxophone), rooted in Nordic folk music and the Danish song tradition, which they weave together with contemporary jazz. Using loops, effects and voice, they push the limits of what two melody instruments can do in dialogue. Their project is also a deliberate artistic statement on femininity - in sound and concept alike - and their album 'mor fødes' forms part of that work.
Svanger performed at the Opera in Christiania as part of a triple concert with KABALE and DJ LAMA.
